About the Tides at Turtle Mound

Turtle Mound gets two high tides and two low tides most days, both about the same size. On a typical day the water rises and falls about 0.5 feet. Tides here are small, so wind and river flow can move the water as much as the tide does.

Over the next two weeks the biggest tides come on Monday, November 9, when the water moves about 0.6 feet. The lowest water is -0.1 ft on Sunday, November 8 at 5:10 PM, and the highest is 0.5 ft on Saturday, November 21 at 8:14 AM. A minus tide like that uncovers the most beach, flats and tide pools.

NOAA predicts the tides here from years of measurements at station 8721223.
