EasyTides

Privacy Policy

Last updated November 6, 2026.

The Short Version

EasyTides does not ask for your name or email, has no accounts, sets no cookies, shows no ads, and does not sell or share personal information. We count visits with a privacy friendly tool that does not identify you.

What Stays on Your Device

Your saved locations, text size, light or dark choice, and your answers and streak for the question of the day are kept in your own browser's storage. They never reach us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.

Near Me

When you tap Near Me, your browser asks whether to share your location. If you say yes, the page uses it on your device to find the closest locations. It is not sent to us or anyone else, and it is not saved.

Weather and Alerts

Location pages ask the National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) for the forecast and active alerts straight from your browser. Like any website, the weather service receives the request, which includes your IP address and browser type. Its own privacy policy covers that.

Visit Counts

To learn which pages people use, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It records the page viewed, the page you came from, your country, and your device type and browser. It sets no cookies and does not keep your IP address. Visits are grouped by a short lived code that is thrown away after a day, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next or across other sites.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Its servers keep standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page asked for, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use these logs to identify anyone.

Links to Other Sites

Pages link to NOAA, the National Weather Service and state fish and wildlife agencies. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave EasyTides.

Children

EasyTides is a general audience site. It does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If what we collect ever changes, for example if we add advertising, we will update this page and the date above first.
