About the Tides at Nikiski

Nikiski gets two high tides and two low tides most days, and they are not a matched pair. One high or one low each day is clearly bigger than the other. On a typical day the water rises and falls about 17.2 feet.

Over the next two weeks the biggest tides come on Sunday, November 8, when the water moves about 24.1 feet. The lowest water is -1.7 ft on Monday, November 9 at 10:57 PM, and the highest is 22.4 ft on Sunday, November 8 at 3:33 PM. A minus tide like that uncovers the most beach, flats and tide pools.

NOAA station 9455760 here measures the water live and reports its temperature.
